About the Role:
Reporting to CFO Greece, the position holder will be responsible for the organization, coordination and operation of the accounting department based on tax, costing and accounting requirements.
Location: The position is based in FAMAR offices in Alimos, Athens.
Main Responsibilities:
More specifically, the Accounting Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate all accounting & tax activities and period closings, prepare and ensure accuracy of financial statements and related reports.
- Review month-end close procedures including review of journal entries, reconciliations of accounts and monitoring of assets and liabilities.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax returns and monitor related payments.
- Collaborate with BU functions, controllers and FP&A teams to ensure efficient workflow and achievement of deliverables.
- Monitor compliance with tax regulations for all transactions, book, record and ensure that effective controls are in place.
- Manage financial audits and audit deliverables.
- Review contracts and other documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and Group policies.
- Review day to day operation of Accounting Department, managing, developing and coaching the members of his team.
- Contribute to the organization’s efficiency, proposing and managing best practices, improvements and controls.
Profile, Skills, Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or relevant field.
- Eight years or more in a similar role.
- Certified Public Accountant designation and/or Master’s degree preferred.
- Solid people management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Greek and English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software, experience in ERP environment, SAP preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
