Technical Support Manager

The Role

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Technical Support Manager to supervise the flawless delivery, functioning & maintenance of Goldair Handling Ground Service Equipment (GSE), as well as take care of the design and continuous testing of the overall HSSE procedures to ensure smooth operations and efficient business solutions for the whole company. The right incumbent will manage the technical teams and the proper supporting activities in 25 airports in Greece & Bulgaria and will have to ensure accurate reporting and long term strategic proposals to the Board of Directors of the company.

The right talent for this role should combine a “hands on” proven work experience with a corporate, very organized, analytical and structured, leadership style. 

The role reports to the CEO of Goldair Handling


Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation of IMS (QMS, EVS, FSM, SMS)
  • Overview maintenance operations for all Ground Service Equipment to be in optimal condition in accordance with manufacturer, company’s and regulatory standards
  • Develop policy, establish controls, and manage business processes that ensure compliance with company’s expectations for managing optimum GSE performance (fleet management) and life cycle management
  • Develop, implement and manage all existing processes related to equipment budgets, repairs, maintenance and processes that will eliminate waste and maximize efficiencies
  • Ensure that GSE, Facility expenses and capital budget planning processes are in accordance with company’s strategy and financial targets
  • Identify and present market trends, new business opportunities and new areas of development
  • Partner with internal departments and stations to ensure optimum cost efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership
  • Identify new sources of supply, new supplier programs and features. Introduce procurement policies (RFP’s) where available
  • Ensure consistent analysis and reporting of performance data
  • Project Management - P&L responsibility for new projects
  • People Management, in a volatile -in resources- environment, performance tracking vs. standards, training program, clear succession plans


Qualification Requirements

  • Previous working experience as technical support manager for a minimum of 3 years
  • In-depth knowledge of market analysis and metrics
  • Masters’ degree in business, finance, or similar relevant field
  • Hands-on experience in creating reporting and managing budgets
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Key personality attributes: attention to detail, structured way of working, open mind, strong ethics
  • Knowledge of European, National and International legislations and regulations of the transportation industry (vehicles and GSE equipment) will be considered a plus
