We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the position of Group EHS & Sustainability Manager.
Group EHS & Sustainability Manager
The Group EHS & Sustainability Manager ensures that the best practices are applied within FAMAR in terms of Safety at Work, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Environment and Sustainability while ensuring compliance with the regulations of the different countries, creating procedures, corporate policies and working instructions.
LOCATION: The position’s location can be at any FAMAR facility, across three different countries, Greece (Alimos, Anthoussa, Avlonas, Thiva), Italy (Baranzante) or Spain (Alcorcon).
The Group EHS & Sustainability Manager ensures that the best practices are applied within FAMAR in terms of Safety at Work, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Environment and Sustainability while ensuring compliance with the regulations of the different countries, creating procedures, corporate policies and working instructions.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Group EHS & Sustainability Manager is responsible for the following:
Main EHS Functions:
- Ensure that every site and area carries out the identification and risk evaluation of processes, machinery and equipment, job stations and environment aspects of each site.
- Ensure the proper follow up and closure of all CAPAS derived from internal actions (flash audits, weekly inspections, gemba walks, etc.) as well as external actions (external official audits, customer audits, etc.).
- Work in close collaboration with all the sites and maintain a close follow up of the EHS programs to ensure a complete fulfillment and achievement of the annual KPIs.
- Keep a track of the legal EHS requirements of each country and maintain a thorough follow up to ensure that these are met.
- Ensure that the EHS Management System documentation of each site is thorough and maintained up to date.
- Provide on-going advice and coaching to the EHS team at all the sites relating to any aspect of the EHS Management.
- Submit and implement an annual training plan for the EHS team.
- Propose and implement for all the sites an annual EHS internal audit plan.
- Ensure equipment/system, environmental compliance.
- Ensure and coach the teams to be able to obtain or update the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
- Must coordinate and oversee that the teams at the sites are well prepared to schedule a Health and Safety Committee with the Workers Council.
- Collaborate with the Communication Department to improve awareness with regards to EHS internally as well as externally.
- Coordinate the follow up of all the LTAs and other incidents which take place in any of the sites. Organize on-going trainings on incident management and reduction.
- Continue to provide support and expertise for the achievement of all the KPIs of EHS.
- Ensure that all sites will fulfill their respective EHS programs.
- Participate and collaborate in the EHS audits of Customers.
Risk Prevension:
- Provide assessment of each country with respect to the Risk Prevention services required by the law and contribute to their compliance and improvement of the services in each country.
- Ensure that every year emergency drills are carried out in each of the sites and that a proper report is prepared.
- Ensure that emergency evacuation teams are set up in every site and that these have the proper training.
- Ensure that each site will maintain an updated Business Continuity Plan.
- Ensure that annual medical checkups are carried out in each site, as required by law.
Sustainability:
- Monitor and control specific sustainability KPIs.
- Contribute, at site and Group level, to CO2 reduction, energy savings projects, as well as OpEx initiatives in terms of waste reduction.
- Contribute to improve awareness on sustainability within the organization.
- Regularly update and harmonize improvements across the sites in relation to the Ecovadis platform and rating system.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the ESG system.
CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:
Training and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or any other Scientific subject, postgraduate or Master degree in the field of Science will be considered an advantage, preferably in Environment and/or Sustainability.
- Between 5-8 years of work experience in a similar role preferably in a Pharmaceutical/Industrial Group.
- Expert knowledge in Risk Prevention, Environmental Compliance, Security, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomy.
- Knowledge of current regulation at EU and local level in terms of EHS.
- Knowledge of ATEX regulation.
- Toxicological assessment.
- Knowledge of GMP regulation and approach is preferred.
- High level of English, both written and verbal, knowledge of the Greek, Spanish or Italian languages will be considered an advantage.
